Black Purl Sock Chart

Black Purl Chart

It’s too big to fit in the post so click to find it! (It may help to zoom in so that the lines will look better)

Details:

Yarn: Knitpicks Essential Solid Sock Yarn

Needles: size 1 circular needles

CO 70 sts in MC for leg and work flat in 1×1 rib for 1 inch.

Switch to chart (I did the chart ALLLL the way across the 70 sts for the sake of clarity and not having to write out the changes…)

Repeat chart as many times as desired alternating 2nd and 3rd colors.

At end of last chart repeat join for working in the round. Work following rib pattern (minus the jolly rogers) for 1 additional round.

To be continued tomorrow…

(If any of you cast on for this sock tonight and make it to the end of the leg in time for the cuff by tomorrow afternoon and are waiting for the next set of directions, I’ll be thoroughly amazed at your knitting speed and prowess…)

  1. Dear Brandy,
This has nothing to do with your current blog entry, but rather with you reply to Crazy Aunt Purl’s blog: I remember that book from when I was 10 or 11. The title has something to do with a Mrs. Basil (or Mrs. Basile?) Great, fun book, read it just the one time and that was in about 1970! –Kathleen

  2. The books you are looking for are the Cherry Ames series. I have them all. And am a nurse by the way. I am Cherry Ames, Cancer Nurse these days.
